Terms of use
Effective October 23, 2026. These terms apply to Career Desk at career-desk.orangecastle.net, operated by Conor Brown as an individual maintainer (“we”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. The product and privacy page explains what data we keep and how; it is part of these terms.
A free public beta
Career Desk is a free beta. Features, limits and availability can change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. We will give reasonable notice before discontinuing it or introducing any charge, and you can export your data at any time from the workspace. No paid plan exists today.
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms. Use one account per person, provide a real email address you control, and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the assistant connections you approve. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
Your content
You keep ownership of the profile, notes, applications and documents you save. You give us permission to store, process, display and back up that content only as needed to run Career Desk for you, including sending it to an assistant you connect. You are responsible for the content and for having the right to upload it. Do not store other people’s sensitive personal information beyond what an application genuinely needs.
Applications are your responsibility
Career Desk organizes your search; it does not apply for jobs, guarantee interviews or employment, or verify employers. Imported posting details come from third-party sites and may be incomplete or wrong. Review every claim, document and answer before you send it, and follow each employer’s and job site’s terms.
Connected assistants
If you connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, that assistant’s provider and its terms govern your use of it, including what it does with information it reads. We are not responsible for assistant output. A connection can only use the permissions you approve, and you can disconnect it at any time from the workspace.
Acceptable use
Do not use Career Desk to break the law or anyone’s rights; to upload malware or content you are not allowed to share; to access another person’s account or data; to probe, attack, overload or scrape the service; to get around rate limits, storage limits or the account cap; or to create accounts automatically or in bulk. Do not use it to misrepresent your qualifications to employers.
Suspension and deletion
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk, and will explain why when it is safe to do so. You can delete your account at any time from Account & data; retention after deletion is described on the privacy page.
No warranty
Career Desk is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Keep your own copies of important documents.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, opportunities, income or profits, arising from your use of Career Desk. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date above will change, and for material changes we will notify account holders by email or in the workspace before they take effect. Continuing to use Career Desk after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions or reports: contact Conor Brown.
